At Tapestry 360 Health, internships provide more than professional experience — they create opportunities for students to grow, lead, and discover their purpose in healthcare.

One intern who truly embraced that opportunity is Jazmine Vargas, a senior at Loyola University Chicago studying Healthcare Administration. During her final semester of college, Jazmine joined Tapestry 360 Health as a student intern supporting leadership initiatives, operational projects, and community engagement efforts.

Gaining Hands-On Experience

Throughout her internship, Jazmine played an important role in supporting the Golf for Good fundraiser through sponsorship outreach, donor engagement, and operational coordination. She completed more than 200 outreach calls to previous golfers, donors, and sponsors while also helping track donations and assist with administrative projects.

In addition to fundraising support, Jazmine also worked on large-scale contract review and spreadsheet management projects that strengthened her technical and organizational skills.

“I really had to multitask a wide range of assignments,” Jazmine shared. “Adaptability and multitasking became two of the biggest skills I developed during this internship.”

Learning the Importance of Community Healthcare

One of the most impactful lessons Jazmine learned during her internship was the importance of safety-net healthcare organizations and the barriers many patients face when trying to access care.  Jazmine Vargas

Through projects focused on patient no-shows and community outreach, she gained a deeper understanding of how transportation, accessibility, and socioeconomic challenges can affect healthcare outcomes.

“It taught me the importance of meeting patients where they are,” Jazmine explained. “This experience reaffirmed that I want to continue working in nonprofit healthcare organizations.”

Looking Ahead

After graduation, Jazmine hopes to pursue a career in women’s health and reproductive healthcare. Throughout her internship, she built meaningful relationships with mentors and staff members who helped guide her professional growth and career exploration.

At Tapestry 360 Health, we are grateful for Jazmine’s hard work, curiosity, leadership, and commitment to making a difference in healthcare. We are excited to watch her continue growing and impacting communities in the future.

Congratulations, Jazmine!
