Family Planning & Medicaid Card
Starting December 1, 2022, get immediate coverage with no out-of-pocket costs for Family Planning services through Medicaid.
You can get coverage if:
- You earn under 200% of the FPL (make less than ~$3,000/month before taxes for one person).
- You have insurance, but you have privacy concerns.
- You have insurance, but it doesn't cover birth control. Non-US citizens can get short-term coverage. Ask about family planning presumptive eligibility (FPPE).
Coverage includes:
- All FDA-approved birth control methods: condoms, pills, patches, rings, shots, IUDs, implant, vasectomy, tubal ligation, and emergency contraception
- Sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment
- Screening for breast, cervical, and testicular cancer
- Genital/urinary infections and treatment
- Vaccines related to sexual health
What else you should know:
- You can be any age to apply on your own.
- You need to have an Illinois address.
- You can get services immediately with family planning presumptive eligibility (FPPE).
