At Tapestry 360 Health, internships help students discover how their skills and passions can create meaningful change in healthcare.

For Rossana “Roxy” Mesones, that journey led her to discover the powerful connection between healthcare data, patient experience, and community impact.

A graduating senior at Loyola University Chicago majoring in Healthcare Administration with a minor in Information Systems, Roxy spent her internship supporting Tapestry 360 Health’s HIT and data teams through reporting, patient data management, and outreach-related projects.

Turning Data Into Meaningful Impact

Throughout her internship, Roxy worked on projects involving patient flow, scheduling trends, smoking cessation outreach, cervical cancer screening data, and no-show initiatives. Her role focused on cleaning and organizing healthcare data while helping staff better understand reporting insights and patient trends.

“I realized that even behind-the-scenes data work directly impacts patient experiences,” Roxy shared. “Everything we do helps support patients and make healthcare more accessible.”

One project she felt especially proud of involved supporting cervical cancer screening outreach efforts through updated patient data and reporting improvements.

As her first internship experience, Roxy initially felt nervous stepping into a healthcare data-focused role. However, through mentorship and collaboration, she quickly gained confidence and strengthened her technical and communication skills.

“I learned how to translate complex information into simpler language that everyone could understand,” she explained.

“I also learned to ask more questions and become more confident in myself.”

Throughout her internship, she built strong relationships with mentors and team members who encouraged her growth and helped her navigate new challenges.

Looking Ahead

Following graduation, Roxy plans to pursue her Master’s in Healthcare Administration while continuing to explore opportunities in healthcare data and patient outreach. Long term, she hopes to bring her knowledge and experience back to Peru to help improve healthcare systems and accessibility in her home country.

At Tapestry 360 Health, we are grateful for Roxy’s thoughtful contributions, curiosity, and passion for community healthcare. We look forward to seeing all the incredible things she will accomplish in the future.

Congratulations, Roxy!
