A Decade of Excellence

Laurie - Carrier

After ten years of dedicated service and innovative leadership at Tapestry 360 Health, Dr. Laurie Carrier is returning to her career’s origins to have a more direct impact on the lives of vulnerable patients. On April 1st, 2024, Dr. Carrier stepped down as Chief Medical Officer to take on the role of Clinical Director of Integrated Care responsible for supporting our psychiatric providers working in the community as well as primary care providers working in our integrated sites.

Dr. Carrier has had a tremendous impact on the lives of her patients and those of us who have had the pleasure to serve alongside her. A double-boarded psychiatrist and family practitioner, Dr. Carrier has been Tapestry 360 Health’s CMO since 2015. During that time, she set a precedent and showed how a female CMO could lead and bring new perspectives to the position.

Champion of Innovation: Dr. Laurie Carrier’s Contributions to Healthcare at Tapestry 360 Health

Dr. Carrier’s achievements include promoting joy in practice among providers and staff and building a great team of providers dedicated to quality care and equitable healthcare for our

patients. In addition, she was named one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Innovators. Dr. Carrier earned the award based on her transformation of our primary care services to include behavioral health services for the underserved populations that we serve.

Patients’ services included holistic treatments of the whole person – cooking classes, nutrition, wellness, acupuncture, and more. The measurable health results for patients from this program were tremendous.

Another pivotal point in Dr. Carrier’s career was during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the first two months of lockdown, a multidisciplinary team worked tirelessly to host over 4,000 telehealth visits for patients, providing vital health services to thousands of underserved patients. During this time, we also offered drive-through COVID-19 testing and pop-up community testing throughout the pandemic.

“Innovation is just part of Laurie’s vision to empower people to care for themselves and others,” said CEO Nicole Willis. “She inspires our staff to deliver the highest quality of care to those who face some of the greatest health challenges: immigrants and refugees, people with chronic health conditions, and anyone who has suffered from systemic inequality.”

Transition in Leadership: Welcoming Dr. Courtney Mapes as Interim CMO

While we will miss her leadership, fearlessness, and contributions, the organization is excited about her decision to continue her work and impact at Tapestry 360 Health.

We are pleased to introduce Dr. Courtney Mapes, a board-certified family physician who is stepping serving as the Interim Chief Medical Officer while the organization searches for a permanent CMO. Dr. Mapes brings a wealth of experience to the role, providing medical care at Air Force bases worldwide and working with farmworkers and other underserved populations in community health settings. Her extensive volunteer and service record is a testament to her commitment to healthcare. Dr. Mapes joined Tapestry 360 Health in 2019, and we are confident in her ability to lead us through this transition.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Carrier on this next chapter and welcoming Dr. Mapes to Tapestry 360 Health leadership.
