Dental Care
Dental care is an important part of our integrated primary care for pediatric and pregnant or diabetic adults within our healthcare system
Brushing and flossing daily maintain good dental health. Regular checkups help keep your mouth, teeth, and gums healthy by identifying any early dental disease or risk factors.
A healthy mouth is important for overall health and wellness. We know that oral health is important to patients, and that getting access to dental care can be difficult.
We Serve…….
- Children
- Our primary care patients who are pregnant
- Our primary care patients with diabetes
- Our primary care patients experiencing a dental emergency
Unfortunately, we cannot provide dental care to others due to limited resources and high demand.
Children
We provide pediatric patients from birth through age 20 with preventative, restorative, and emergency dental care. Please bring your child in for their first dental appointment around the time that your baby’s first tooth comes in, or latest by their first birthday! This can help reduce the risk of long term chronic dental issues.
Primary care patients who are pregnant
Pregnancy is an important time in a patient’s life, but as natural changes occur within the body, you can become more susceptible to chronic dental issues. Dental care is not only safe, but recommended during pregnancy to ensure mom and baby’s health!
Primary care patients who have diabetes
Taking care of your teeth is even more important if you have diabetes, since this can make your more susceptible to chronic dental infections such as gum disease This makes brushing and flossing even more important. Seeing a dentist can help reduce risk of poor teeth and gum health, including loss of natural teeth!
Preventing harm to our teeth and mouth is important. But dental or oral health affects other parts of our health, too. For example, some bacteria (germs that can infect people) in our mouths can lead to inflammation, which can affect other areas of our body. Good dental health can also influence social interactions and self esteem.
