Physical Exams

At your physical exam, we will check your vital signs. These include blood pressure, breathing rate, pulse rate, temperature, height, and weight.

At the exam we’ll review your past medical and social history. For example, you may have specific health risks related to your work or changing risks as you age. The exam is a great time to practice preventive medicine, because we can make sure everything is going well. We can also identify any health concerns to treat before they become a bigger issue.

We also ask about your family history. You are more at risk for some diseases based on family history. For example, if someone in your family had a specific type of cancer, your primary care provider may suggest getting screened for that cancer sooner.

Family histories and physical exams are also required for immigrants and refugees who are newly arrived in the country. We can provide this service or refer you to a nearby office for this.

Please do plan to bring any questions or concerns about your health for your physical exam! Also bring a list of medications. If you are tracking any health data such as blood pressure or blood sugar, please bring your tracker.
