A well-child visit is an opportunity to monitor your child’s health at every age and stage of growth
Children between the ages of 1 and 4 should have 7 well child visits. It’s crucial to visit your pediatrician regularly to ensure health and normal development.
During each visit, parents have the opportunity to discuss behavior, eating and sleeping habits and receive childhood vaccinations.
Our care team monitors the progress of each developmental milestone of your child to ensure they grow to become healthy and happy adults.
What does a well-child visit involve?
At the appointment, the provider will give your child a complete checkup, including:
- Measure your child’s height, weight, blood pressure, and pulse
- Check your child’s eyes, ears, nose throat, lymph nodes, heart, lungs, and abdomen for any abnormalities
- Assess your child’s neck, spine, shoulders, arms, wrists, elbows, knees, legs, and feet
- Check hearing and vision
- Blood tests may be required
- Make sure your child has his/her updated immunizations (please bring the
- immunization record with you)
- Review your medical history
- Ask you and your child about any concerns you may have about his/her wellbeing
- Give you guidance on preventive care and healthy lifestyle choices

How often should you schedule a well-child visit?
Well-child visits are recommended at the following ages:
- 2 months old
- 4 months old
- 6 months old
- 9 months old
- 12 months old
- 15 months old
- 18 months old
- 24 months old
- 30 months old
- Yearly from 3 years through 21 years old
