Firm, Fair, and Full of Heart: Meet Marquitta Moore

At Tapestry 360 Health, we pride ourselves on being a community where care extends beyond clinic walls and leadership is rooted in respect, compassion, and accountability. This month, we are proud to spotlight Marquitta Moore, Director of Community Health Operations, whose decade-long journey at Tapestry reflects the heart, resilience, and people-centered leadership that define our organization.
A Journey Built on Opportunity and Growth
Marquitta describes her experience at Tapestry 360 Health in one word: community.
For nearly 10 years, Marquitta has been a steady presence at our Wilson clinic and beyond — growing from frontline staff into a trusted leader who supports teams, strengthens operations, and ensures both patients and staff feel seen, valued, and supported every day. With a background in private practice, she was drawn to Tapestry because of its mission — and quickly realized how different community health truly was.
“I didn’t know places like this existed,” Marquitta shared. “Where if you don’t have insurance, you don’t get turned away.”
Witnessing patients cry from relief simply because they were able to receive care changed her perspective forever.
She joined Tapestry as a medical assistant and learned the organization from the ground up, guided by strong managers and mentors. After a year in her role, colleagues encouraged her to apply for a management position. Nervous but motivated, she stepped forward — not for the title, but for the opportunity to learn and expand her impact.
Today, as Director of Community Health Operations, Marquitta’s work touches nearly every part of clinic operations. From infection control and supply chain management to training, compliance, and committee involvement, her days are fast-paced and ever-evolving.
Leadership Grounded in Respect and Accountability
Ask Marquitta how she leads, and she’ll tell you her approach is firm and fair.
No matter how complex the work becomes, Marquitta’s focus remains constant: supporting her team and creating an environment where everyone can succeed. She believes leadership means modeling the behavior you expect from others — showing up on time, staying present, and holding yourself accountable. “A lot of leadership is ‘do as I say,’” she shared. “But you’re not modeling it. I don’t do that.”
Equally important to her is creating a workplace where people feel respected and supported. She understands that for many staff members, work is more than a job — it’s stability, community, and sometimes their only source of security or belonging.

“A lot of people go home to nothing,” she said. “So I want them to feel love here.”
Moments That Affirm the Purpose of Her Work
For Marquitta, the moments that matter most are often quiet and unplanned — a patient stopping by her office simply to say thank you, or seeing children she once helped care for return years later, healthy, confident, and thriving.
These moments reaffirm why accessible, compassionate care matters — and why she continues to show up every day with intention and heart.
That same commitment to impact extends beyond patient care and into workforce development. Marquitta oversees the NIMMA Program, where she plays a key role in training and supporting future medical assistants who are eager to serve their communities. A new NIMMA cohort will begin later this year, offering hands-on training, mentorship, and a meaningful pathway into community health careers. Stay tuned for upcoming opportunities to learn more and apply.
